Frequently asked questions
Answers about Tayb: the weekly plan, subscriptions, privacy and more.
- What is Tayb?
- Tayb is a health app that helps you eat better without making it complicated. It combines an ingredient encyclopedia, recipes, personal weekly planning with automatic shopping lists and guided workouts — all in five languages. The name "Tayb" (طيب) means "good" or "pure" in Arabic.
- What makes Tayb different from other nutrition apps?
- Tayb works with real, natural ingredients and with combinations that reinforce each other — such as turmeric with black pepper. Those combinations are made visible per recipe, with sources. No hype and no promises: you see what is in your food and why it fits together.
- How does the weekly plan work?
- You choose one goal (such as more energy or living healthier), your household size and how much time you want to cook. Tayb then composes a weekly plan: recipes, an automatic shopping list and optional movement. You can swap meals if something does not fit.
- Is Tayb free to use?
- Yes. With a free account you can browse all recipes and the full encyclopedia, and generate one weekly plan per month. On registration you also get a one-time free premium trial — no credit card needed.
- Does Tayb support fasting?
- Yes. Tayb supports Islamic fasting (such as Ramadan and sunnah days, anchored to prayer times) as well as intermittent fasting (16:8, 18:6, 20:4). Your weekly plan and eating moments adapt to your fasting schedule. These features are only enabled with your explicit consent.
- Does Tayb work with my cooking robot?
- A large part of the recipes include step-by-step instructions for the Thermomix and the Bosch Cookit, alongside the regular preparation. You choose your appliance once; after that you automatically see the right variant.
- Can I use Tayb with my family?
- Yes. With premium you share your plan with a family member. The app automatically merges both dietary preferences and allergies, so the weekly planning works for everyone at the table — with a shared shopping list and pantry.
- How does Tayb handle my health data?
- Health data falls under the strictest category of the GDPR. Tayb therefore asks for explicit, separate consent per feature (such as allergy safety or fasting) before that data is processed. Declining is fine: the app remains usable. You can withdraw any consent later in settings. See our privacy policy for details.
- Can I download or delete my data?
- Yes, both. Via Settings → Privacy you can download all your data (GDPR data portability). You can delete your account via Settings → Account: your data is then deleted, with a short recovery period in case you change your mind — after that, deletion is final. See our privacy policy for details.
- Does Tayb give medical advice?
- No. Tayb is a tool for nutrition and lifestyle and does not provide medical advice. The information in the app and on this site never replaces the advice of a doctor or dietitian. Always consult a professional in case of health issues, pregnancy or medication use.
- Which languages and devices does Tayb support?
- Tayb is fully available in Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish. The app works in the browser (also on your phone, as a web app you can add to your home screen) — on any device, without installing from an app store.
- What happens after the trial?
- After 30 days, your trial ends automatically. You can then upgrade to Premium or continue with the free version.
- How does payment work?
- We use Stripe for secure payments. You can pay with iDEAL, credit card, Bancontact and more.
- Can I cancel at any time?
- Yes, you can cancel at any time. You'll keep access until the end of the paid period.
- How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
- You manage your subscription via your account settings on tayb.app. You can cancel at any time — you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- What happens to my data if I downgrade?
- Your data remains saved, but some premium features will be limited to the limits of your new plan.
